Bulletin Generator

Privacy

Bulletin Generator helps a church prepare its weekly bulletin. To do that it stores the names of the people who serve, the prayer list, the bulletin text and the sign-in details of the volunteers who use it. This page says what is kept, who can see it, and what you can ask us to do.

What each church stores

Names and, when a church chooses to add them, phone numbers and e-mail addresses of participants; names in the prayer list; the order of service and announcements; the church's own address and settings; and a history log of who changed what. Volunteer accounts hold an e-mail address and a scrambled password that nobody, including us, can read back.

Who can see it

Only the people the church's admin has given access to, and only for their own church. Every church's data is kept apart in the database by row-level security, which is tested automatically before each release. The printed bulletin and the web version are public documents by the church's choice; anything printed in them is visible to whoever the church gives them to. The app creator can see shared calendars and lessons; church data is opened only when a church asks for help.

Where it lives

The database and hosting are provided by Supabase and Vercel in North American data centres, with encrypted connections and daily backups. Sunset locations are looked up through OpenStreetMap using only the city, province and postal code. Sabbath School lesson titles come from the Adventech public service.

Your rights (Canada: PIPEDA; US: state privacy laws)

A church admin can download everything the church has stored from Church settings at any time, and can remove any person or bulletin. Any individual named in a bulletin, on a schedule or in a prayer list may ask their church to correct or remove that information; churches should collect a person's consent before printing their name, phone number or health information. To have a whole church's data deleted, or to raise a concern, write to boldantproductions@gmail.com. We answer within 30 days and delete on request.

What we never do

We do not sell or share church or member information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not send e-mail to members. Health details in a prayer list are visible only to that church's volunteers and are printed only when the church prints them.
